Do you know that you are a woman of impact, a woman that brings “flavor” to things? So, what do you bring flavor to? Do you know that you are a woman of influence, a woman that “seasons” the lives of others? So, who are you “seasoning”? Are you sooo aware of the strength (flavor) God has given you that you can’t help but do great things, as you move in His power and grace? Why not? It’s in your DNA!!! Life throws us curve balls that literally knock us off course. Yes, sometimes life causes us to lose our focus, lose our drive, lose even ourselves. But despite all of this, DNA never changes. It’s built in you, threaded into every fiber of your very being. God intended it this way. He divinely knit His flavor, His seasoning into your spiritual DNA. And it is your spiritual DNA that causes you to rise above every thing that knocks you down and stands in the way of you being all that God intends. So rise up…lift your head up…square your shoulders strong…stand assured. Be intentional about who you will season, and bring flavor to this week. You have no choice, it’s in your DNA! #livingempowered #womanwithflavor #itsinyourDNA

“Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? Flavorless salt is useless, good for nothing,  and will end up in the garbage.” (Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ MSG)

Now here’s a question for you: How do you currently see God? Does the way you see God affect how you currently live? Does it change the way you currently see the world? The way you see God changes everything. It changes your self image, your image of others, your worldview, your everything. How do you see your God? Today, I see Him as my Heart Re-Shaper. He is re-shaping my heart to transform into His heart…so that I love what He loves and my heart breaks for what His heart breaks for. In this reshaping, I’ve had to let go of my perspectives, my agenda, my plans…in exchange for His perspective, His agenda, and His plan. This sounds good…but letting go of ME is not easy. Truth be told…the struggle is real. But it is this daily question that God uses to relentlessly reshape my heart. How do you see God? This week, spend time to reflect…the way you see God changes everything!!!

“Then Jesus and his disciples walked together. On the way, he posed this question to his disciples: “Who do the people say that I am?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptizer, others say Elijah the prophet, and still others say you must be one of the prophets.” He asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” (Mark‬ ‭8‬:‭27-29‬ TPT)

Distractions are doorways, which attempt to rob our peace, thankfulness, time, energy and delay our journey in God. What distracts you? If I’m honest, I face a variety of demands daily; people, places, circumstances, and conversations that constantly battle for my attention. Do they throw me off course and dim my focus in God? Or do they strengthen me in the course and sharpen my focus in God? How do I decide where to draw the line and close the door to what distracts me?

One key to maintaining my focus in God is to distinguish which of my demands deserve my attention in this specific season of my life, and which of my demands are distractions that I need to shut the door on. This week, distinguish the demands in your life. Identify what distracts you! Then…reprioritize, rebalance, and refocus the demands that sharpen your focus and help you stay the course in your journey with God! #livingempowered #focused

“Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust. (Proverbs 4:25-27 MSG)

On our empowerment call a few weeks ago, we learned that faith is an action word, not just this “thing” we have. It does not just stand still, listless, and inactive. Faith requires active motion. It requires your “GO”, as Evangelist Victoria Bates taught. Since that empowerment call, I’ve had to exercise great faith and “GO” into areas that I considered unfamiliar and impossible. My faith was powerful because I didn’t stop to second guess the impossibility, but I actively moved with God..I actively followed His “GO”. What a liberating feeling to witness faith having powerful action that moves impossibilities!!! What are you personally believing God for? What steps will you need to take to move towards it? What action will you take to match your faith? How about you put your feet to your faith…Will you “act-ivate” your faith and just GO!

“What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone?” (James 2:14 NLT)

Last week in my devotion time, the Holy Spirit asked: Who are you striving to be? What accomplishments are you standing on? Do you know who you REALLY are and what your identity is built on? Before I could even answer, He spoke…Know that You are a daughter of the KING! You don’t have to earn or work for this position with your Father. You don’t have to create this name for yourself. You don’t have to strive to become who your Father has already declared you to be. You just ARE!!!  It can’t be erased, it can’t be nullified, it can’t be changed. It is secured! Your position as daughter is rooted in your Father before you were even born. It just is! So, Crown Up! 👑 You are the daughter of a KING! This week, rest confidently in your identity in God, your Father; stand up in the authority, boldness, and inheritance that comes with that identity, and let God, your Father, perfect His name in you.  #crownup #livingempowered

And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir. (‭Galatians‬ ‭4‬:‭6-7‬ NLT)

While being alone can be enjoyable to unplug and process, we were never intended for loneliness and isolation. God created us with a need for others, a need for community. As I personally walk this journey with God, I realize that there is still so much that I don’t understand about life and even understand about God. But He amazingly uses community to teach me more about Him. It is through the community of Intercessory prayer and the community of dance ministry, that I learn and study the promises of God, that I learn about worship and the presence of God, that I learn about the power of intercession, that I continue to learn, to grow, to be built up in my faith. The added bonus is that I have found eternal friends while being in community. Through these people, I have experienced God’s outrageous love for me. This happened not while I was in isolation, but while being in community. This week, may you continue to realize your need for community to learn, to share your struggles, to share your victories, and to continue to grow in life and in your relationship with God. May you experience God’s outrageous love for you through community. #livingempowered

“In the human body there are many parts and organs, each with a unique function. And so it is in the body of Christ. For though we are many, we’ve all been mingled into one body in Christ. This means that we are all vitally joined to one another, with each person contributing to the others”. (‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭4-5‬ TPT)

Thought for the week

0E59A7FF-A9AF-4D0A-9E95-BB0193AE5583Do not allow others to make a mess of your mind and of your spiritual peace. Your peace in God is just that precious, just that vital, just that expensive when spent or disrupted. My friend’s daughter, Destini Umajje of “That New Peace”, enlightened me and recently shared that we must be intentional about our self-care, our meditations, and who we allow into our mental and spiritual space, to maintain our inner peace in God. As a result of her enlightenment, I am learning to guard, secure, and fortify myself so that I am continually centered in His peace. This week, refuse to allow anything or anyone to disrupt your place of peace in God. Be intentional about your peace in God through self-care, your meditations, and practices that nurture His peace. “So prepare your minds for action, be completely sober [in spirit–steadfast, self-disciplined, spiritually and morally alert], fix your peace completely on the grace [of God] that is coming to you when Jesus Christ is revealed”.  (1 PETER‬ ‭1‬:‭13‬ AMP)

There’s nothing we have to do or could ever do to earn the love of God. Likewise, there’s nothing we have ever done, or could ever do to stop God from loving us. He just loves us. He just does. His love for us is unconditional, it’s unlimited, it’s unending, it’s boundless. It just is!!! He just is….When we truly discover and accept the depths of God’s unending love for us, we stop trying to earn love from others, we stop basing our identity on the approval of others. We become rooted, secure, unshakable in the love of God. This week, take a moment to bask in God’s love for you. Let Him surround you in His love. Be still in His love and let His love overwhelm and overtake every area of you. Will you open your heart, your entire self, and just let Him love on you today?

“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” (Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭18-19‬ )

There are going to be times in our lives when we must face closed doors. What do we do? My friend, Bernai, recently shared her struggle of facing one closed door after another closed door and my heart broke for her. But while my heart was breaking, she told me that when we face a closed door, we have 2 options: we either get a key to unlock the door or we just go through another door. I don’t know what closed door you are currently facing, but I do know that God promised to open doors that no one can shut; He promised to make a way where there is no way; He promised to provide ALL our needs; He promised to keep us through every storm. He does NOT lie!!! He has given us keys in His promises and His promises are sure nuff proven!!! Will you be encouraged to trust Him?

“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” (Numbers‬ ‭23‬:‭19‬ NLT)

Thought for the week

Yesterday in my quiet devotion time, I questioned: Do I really know God’s heart? Do I know His personality? The nature of His love? His presence? 🤔 Just like we long to be known by the person closest to us (for me it’s my husband), God longs to be known by us. He longs for us to make time to simply seek his face and get to know Him. In every relationship, it is so exciting to discover new great things about the one you love. This week, ask God to reveal a new aspect of His heart that you need to know. Ask Him how Him feels about you in this moment. Ask Him to reveal just how near and loving He is. Then rest in a new exciting discovery of Him! #livingempowered

“God—you’re my God! I can’t get enough of you! I’ve worked up such hunger and thirst for God so much so that I would travel across dry and weary deserts just to find Him”(‭Psalm‬ ‭63‬:‭1‬ MSG)
