Thought for the week

One of the greatest truths that I have discovered is simple yet weighty. God pursues relationship with us! He pursues relationship with us with such passion that he can’t leave us alone until He has real relationship with us. And even when we have real relationship with Him, He pursues more and more of us…wanting deeper and deeper…greater and greater. But what happens when your heart becomes hard because of life’s disappointments, discouragement, or when God doesn’t meet your expectations? Can you believe that God STILL continues to pursue relationship with you even when your heart becomes hard, even when you refuse to go “there” with Him, EVEN when you turn and go away from Him? He’s not put off by your anger, by your hurt, by your disappointment in Him, by your offense, by your hardened heart. Our God still speaks, and He STILL wants a personal relationship with you! He STILL pursues you and is STILL pursuing you now, even as you read this . He won’t stop pursuing you. His pursuit of you is everlasting, it will not end. He stands at the door of your heart, continually knocking and eager to enter once again. And He will continue to knock, until you let Him in!!!

“Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.” (Psalms‬ ‭23‬:‭6‬ NLT)
